There are two ways to save a video from Bluesky. You can use the online downloader right here in your browser, or set up our bookmarklet for one click downloads on desktop. This page covers both.
Downloading videos from Bluesky could not be easier. Go to the Bluesky Video Downloader, paste the link of the post you want to save, and click on Download.
You will then land on a download page with a preview of the video. Click the Download button below the preview and the video saves to your device in the best quality available. That is it.
On the Bluesky app or website, every post has a three dot menu. Tap it and choose Copy link to post. The link looks like this: https://bsky.app/profile/username.bsky.social/post/3l7n7hlp6bd2t. That is the link BskySaver needs. Profile links and feed links won't work, it has to be a link to the post itself.
Open the Bluesky app and find the video you want. Tap the three dots on the post and choose Copy link to post. Then open bskysaver.com in your browser, paste the link, and tap Download. The video saves to your Downloads folder. There is a longer version of this in our phone download guide.
The steps are the same in Safari. Copy the post link from the Bluesky app, paste it on bskysaver.com, and tap Download. Depending on your iOS version the video ends up in your Files app or Photos library.
If you mostly browse Bluesky on a computer, our bookmarklet saves you the copy and paste. You drag a button to your bookmarks bar once, and from then on you can click it while viewing any Bluesky post to jump straight to the download page.
Have a look at the troubleshooting guide, it covers the usual suspects like private accounts and deleted posts. Still stuck? Get in touch and we'll help you out.
